Follow and cultivate your Heart (Xin) for a more peaceful life

2015 in the Chinese zodiac is associated to the year of the Sheep (Goat), The Sheep is the symbol of the Arts. It relates to passive and nurturing times. It will help the healing process with regard to past events caused by individuals who have little respect for the human race or life itself. It will be a year of banding together in faith and in belief that good will prevail and win out over the forces that refuse to comply to a peaceful way of life. For those who trust in goodness, happiness and success will follow.(AC 2104)

This year the sense of following one's heart will be so important as we come into the year of The Sheep (Feb 19th).

In China, the word, xin 心 (often translated as ‘heart’) is frequently used and its concept is central to Chinese culture (Jing Li*2103). The meaning of heart is not the same as in English. In Chinese medicine, one must continue to cultivate the mind, Qigong and Tai Chi are two ways of cultivating the mind and further developing one's self cultivation. Classical 5 element acupuncture also treats the fire element that is associated to the heart, and can be used to harmoni5e the troubles of  the heart and mind.

Here in the west there is a separation of the heart and mind, Chinese medicine references that heart and mind are one. "The Heart... is in control of the Mind” (Simple Questions, chapter 9). As the Zodiac year of The Sheep relates to healing and nurturing, one must learn to create  Heart adjustment (tiao xin).

So to all fellow readers a happy 2015,  work on your heart, xin, create tiao xin, heart adjustment, finally free yourself from suffering.
